Description
Vase in olive green glaze. The outstanding feature is an applied scaled snake curled around the shoulder, forming the two raised handles. The tail is draped downwards. The scales are lost where the handle has been pressed down to attach it. One of the handles has been broken, glued and painted. On the top of the shoulder/ foot of the neck is a band of ovolo type petals. These are echoed on the domed base. At the foot of the body are heavily moulded acanthus leaves. Groove around the waist. The neck is trumpet shaped with a wide ribbed flange.
Base stamped "DUNMORE".
