Description
Text on negative envelope reads 'St Mary's Loch. View on way to St Mary's Loch'. View from an unmetalled road of a river valley, possibly Borthwick Water. The valley bottom is gently sloping and is devoted to pasture. The hills are rounded and appear to be covered in grass and heather. o the left is broom in flower. Unmetalled roads run on either side of the river and they are connected by a steel or concrete bridge. Drystane dykes form the field boundaries. The head dyke is about one-third of the way up the hill. There is a substantial house sitting in a walled garden to the right and another mostly hidden amongst broad-leaved trees. To the left is a small cottage with porch and behind it is a barn.
