candlestick

Maker
1. Dunmore Pottery
2. Peter Gardner
Description
Medium-length candlestick in deep blue glaze. The ribbed stem emerges from a small dish and swell at the top into a cusp. The cusp was a circular cup, but has been pinched to produce a three sided holder. There is a firing crack on the side nearest the handle. At the point where the stem gives way to a thicker plain section (which contains the candle recess) the loop handle has been attached.
Three stilt marks on base where the glaze is particularly thick.
