Object detail

Administrative History
The congregation was established as Grangemouth Free Church on 8 March 1884 as a result of the growth in membership of Zetland Free Church. The first minister was Rev James Anderson and the congregation began with two elders and 136 members from Zetland congregation. It became Grangemouth United Free Church in 1900 (and became known as the West Church in 1909). It entered the Church of Scotland in 1929. The congregation united with Charing Cross Church in 1978 as Charing Cross & West Parish Church.

The building was erected in 1886 and the building was demolished in 1978 (as Charing Cross & West used the Charing Cross building). The stained glass windows were given to Museums Service
