Restriction notes
2018: Mercury expert from Veolia in the building and NC asked him about this. Inside the object a glass globe can be seen, this is where the mercury would be stored. The mercury in a rectifier is stored under a vacuum and as the globe is intact, it is likely the mercury is still in there, normally you need to break the globe to get it out. There can be a filling vent at the top but this is rare. So this object is very likely to have mercury in it and a lot of mercury. It should not be moved or tampered with in any way without expert advice and assistance.
Strongly presumed to contain asbestos when inspected in 2014 see asbestos register for objects for further information.
Textile was sampled and returned negative, gaskets not sampled.Item no. 14 on store asbestos register.
