Description
Fitting new lock gates at Lock 16, taken from the north side of the canal. Four workmen are standing close to the gate as it is suspended from the crane. The gate has previously been laid down flat on the ground by the crane, and has now been re-lifted. The workmen have positioned the gate in the lock, and are continuing installation of the gate. The Union Inn is in the background.This photo is not scanned. You can see the original in the Archives in Callendar House
