medallion; dux

Description
Small gold medallion in a mottled brown jewellery case. There is a pale turquoise ribbon which was used at the presentation ceremony to hang it around the recipient's neck. The medal was awarded to Barbara Muir, dux, at Carmuirs School. It was known as the Alexander Medal after Walter Alexander the sponsor. The case and medal were supplied by James Nicolson, jewellers, Princes Street, Falkirk.
