Description
Vase in the form of a holed moon flask, grey-blue glaze. The annular body is heavily moulded; the domed base and neck have been grafted onto this. The perforated centre is quatrefoil in shape with bevelled edges. There are two concentric circles of dots on the side, containing a series of alternating 7-dot flowers and stylised faces. The bi-conical edges have lines composed of three triangular devices separated by long stemmed flowers. On the two shoulders are moulded link handles. These represent rope with three collars. The cylindrical neck has faces wearing head dresses on the two sides, with lozenges in between and 7-dot flowers.
The base echoes the devices on the body, with triangular motifs, a band of dots, and simple rouletting. The foot ring is devoid of glaze.
Stamped DUNMORE on the base in small lettering.
