Description
Shoulder sherd of a Dressel 20 amphora with the letters IISTIV[...} scratched on after firing. This appears to be the personal name Aestivus. This is a well attested name, but the first occurrence of it known from Britain. II (ie e) for ae is a Vulgarism.
