money bank

Maker
Automatic Recording Safe Co Ltd
Description
Small metal money bank in the shape of a book with gold coloured page ends and a maroon coloured simulated leather cover. The latter is embossed with the castle emblem of the TSB and the words "FALKIRK AND COUNTIES SAVINGS BANK".
Used by the donor. Her brother tried to prize the contents out by using a knife and the damage can still be seen on the object.
Such money banks had to be taken into the bank where the key was kept for emptying.
