Description
A rectangular panel with an arched head. An ornate urn stands on an angled pedestal on 3 small spheres which in turn rest on a rectangular panel. The vase has 2 lion heads from which hand laurel sprigs; the pedestal similarly has 2 ram heads. The vase lid has acanthas leaves & a spiral stem. Had a label that reads " Plaque for chimney with vase decoration, perhaps after a design by Michaelangelo Pergolesi (fl1777-92), an assistant to Robert Adam" Design is late 18th century.
