View of a cast iron panel depicting cherubs. The panel is one of several on the convex curved side of the hot plate which is on the wall opposite the windows. The hot plate is 1.5m long with a maximum width of 0.85m.

The side of the hotplate is decorated with classical reliefs including the figure of Vesta, the goddess of home and hearth. Further along the same wall is a cast iron bread oven. Both were supplied by the Carron Company in 1786.
