Description
Cast iron fireback,with a rounded cetral section at the top. Inscription in curved part at top reads "1588". Two anchors with coiled rope head are flanked by fleur de lys and English roses. The two end panels contain grapes on vines. Rope border. Embossed on the back "1588 IFC".
Commemorates the defeat of the Spanish Armada.
