CHEMICAL SECURITY (sideways) NO... / TO THE BANK OF SCOTLAND BO'NESS / Pay to (signature) or order the sum of.......". Made by G. Waterson & Sons in Edinburgh. Under the coat of arms is written Constituted by Act of Parliament 1695'. These are official cheques used by the Bo'ness Town Council to pay insurance companies- eg. London & Lancashire Fire Assurance Co'. as well as individuals. They have been cashed at a variety of banks including - Royal Bank of Scotland; Clydesdale Bank; Commercial Bank of Scotland; British Linen Bank; Bank of Liverpool and Martins Ltd; Union Bank of Scotland.
