Description
Ceramic wall planter in the form of a stylised lobster with mustard yellow glaze. Wide open mouth, three fin-like spikes projecting forwards and three cone-shaped spikes across the body. Spherical eyes with mottled green tops, run glaze. The legs take the form of 8 inverted V-shaped rods, entwined. The whole sits on a base plaque with melon bead edging and a central perforation suggesting that the figurine was meant as a wall hanging and the open mouth as a receptacle for flowers.
Stamped on the underside of the base "DUNMORE" (Dropped N). Made in a two piece mould with applied detail and base plate.
