 Description
Pen and ink sketch showing a stout man wearing a tapering hat with a broad rim, a wig, waistcoat with cravat, and tailed coat. Behind him is a large warehouse with barrels and a horse and cart laden with sacks. It represents the Grangemouth merchant Henry Swinton.
This was used to illustrate Forbes' Falkirk exhibition in Callendar House. Clare Hewitt was commissioned to undertake the work in 1997.
