A woman has been posed sitting on a wall in the garden. She is wearing her hair up in a bun, a string of pearls, and a posy of flowers. Her blouse has wide sleeves but is close-fitting at the wrist. She is wearing a ground length skirt in a light colour and holding an open book. The nasturtiums are not yet flowering.
