Administrative History
The Scottish Industrial Archaeology Survey (SIAS) was set up with funding from the Ancient Monuments Division of the Property Services Agency., under the Department of History, Strathclyde University. The Director, was John R Hume and Surveying Officer was Graham Douglas and the Research Assistant was Loretta Mackinnon (a former employee of Falkirk Museums). In 1985 SIAS was transferred to the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland.
