Administrative History
Grangemouth Licensing Court was responsible for licensing premises for the sale of alcohol under legislation dating from 1808 and subsequent amendments and additional legislation. The Licensing (Scotland) Act 1903 included a requirement to deposit plans of licensed premises with the licensing courts, and the regulation of licensed clubs. Licensing courts in burghs and counties were held twice a year, with an appeal to licensing appeal courts consisting partly of JPs and partly of councillors.
Bo’ness Licensing Court was replaced by Falkirk District Licensing Board in 1976 under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 1976.
