samian; decorated

Description
1 body sherd with decorative band above a plain horizontal line. Worn.
Form 37, Central Gaulish, in a somewhat orange fabric with noticeable mica platelets. A basal line and part of the lower decoration survives showing a single panel containing a cockerell, probably the matching pair to O.2346A. The cockerell appear on bowls by Cinnamus (Rogers 1999, Pl.25, 5) and also on a form 29/37 by Rentio (Rogers 1999, 213, Fig.48). A Hadrianic-Antonine date is probably most appropriate.
