Subject notes
The building was erected in the early 1850s as a private enterprise. It was bought by the Commissioners for the town in 1873 but was replaced as town hall in 1885. In 1900 it was occupied by the 'Grangemouth Advertiser'. After 1912 it became the 'buroo' (Murphy). It was demolished in 1965 (Porteous, p112-3).
