Administrative History
William Simpson was Accountant or Clerk to the Falkirk Banking Co in 1819, then a Nurseryman residing in Kerse Lane. His father, James Simpson, (d1794) workman at Carron, purchased Wester Dykeland from Michael Ramsay of Mungall in 1777.
William Simpson owned property in Falkirk and Bainsford. After his death in 1850 there was a dispute which lasted several years over the succession of his estate between various heirs portioner.
