Administrative History
Patrick Waugh was based in Jamaica and purchased Arbuthnot as well as Bankhead and Banknock Farms c1839/40. Arbuthnot was also name of his plantation in Jamaica. His house was let and Russel & Aitken acted on his behalf in the leasing. His properties were sold after his death. His daughters were educated in Scotland and married in Jamaica (one came to live in Aberdeen while the rest appear to have remained in Jamaica).
