 Description
A moving belt round a power offtake wheel connects a steam traction engine to a wooden threshing machine. It is next to a two-storey stone building, possibly a barn. A group of farmworkers is standing looking to the camera. Their dress suggests Edwardian times.

Scottish farmers usually had their own their own stationary barn-mills for weekly threshing but once or twice a year they used travelling mills supplied by local contractors for the main threshing.
