Description
View of a ship with three masts and one funnel lying with her bow half on the beach. She is being broken up and plates have been removed from her hull revealing her ribs. There is a rail bogey above the beach. Several workers are working around the hull.

Shipbreaking by hammer and chisel method, oxyacetylene cutters introduced c. 1914. Bottom of ship was wood with copper covering to protect it from barnacles. Barracouta was first ship broken in the yard.
