Also mentioning about the impending marriage of James Shaw [Alexander’s nephew]. Also mentioning that a bond and Instrument of Sasine for Dalquhairn and Paixhole in favour of him [Alexander] is in in his hand. Also mentioning that he thought it unfair that Alexander had been asked by his brother [James Shaw] and nephew to lay our so much of his money. Letter damaged, parts missing.

Letter from Ann Wardrop to her brother Alexander Shaw, surgeon HM Windsor, advising that James Shaw’s name and not his [Alexander's] was put on the Disposition for the Mill even although Alexander had provided the money for it. Advising that he contact James immediately about this; also endorsed Letter from Thomas Heugh, who verified what Ann Wardrop had said and advised that he get a heritable bond for the money he had sent already.
