Printed polyester day dress with a white abstract design on a mid blue background. The dress has a round neckline with a broad cotton collar and a polyester bow at the centre front. The bodice is plain and fastens at the centre back with a button and loop. The waist is escalated and the full skirt is pleated onto it. The sleeves are 3/4 length gathered on the shoulder and gathered at the end onto a cuff which fastens with a button and buttonhole. The label reads 'Size 16, 100% polyester, Collar 100% cotton. Made in England', with care label on the reverse.

1996-052-115 dress; woman's Early 1980s

Black permanently pleated 'palazzo' trousers. The trousers have an elasticated waist and are permanently pleated from waist to hem. The pleating is flared to the hem creating a very wide trouser leg each trouser hem measures 138 cm.

Grey and black suit in synthetic fabric. No.1 the dress has a wide round neck. The bodice section has a shaping seam from the armhole through the bust point to the waist on either side. The excess fabric at the waist is pleated into the seam. The bodice middle section ends at the waist forming a flap with a button at either side. The skirt is straight with a vent at the centre back. It is fastened with a zip. The sleeves are short and straight. The label reads MAXMOS, REGD, LONDON. No.2 The suit jacket has a stand and fall collar with a lapel. It fastens down the centre front with three buttons. The sleeves are three-quarter and straight. It is lined with black synthetic.

1996-052-117 suit; woman's Mid 1960s

Vogue paper pattern No.7079. The envelope front shows three illustrations of models wearing the pattern with different design details. The larger two illustrations are in colour and the third is in black and white. The pattern number and price in the top left hand corner. the name and size measurements are on the top right corner. The envelope back is missing and the paper pattern pieces are incomplete. The pattern instruction leaflet is complete and in good condition. It was used to make 1996-052-118-002 and 003.

Halter neck day dress printed with cream and black abstract design on a fawn background. The front bodice has six bust and shaping darts. The dress is backless to the mid-back with only the halter neckline showing at the back neck. The skirt is pleated on to the fitted waist, and is calf length. The dress fastens at the centre back with a zip from the mid back to the hip. The dress was made at home from paper pattern 1996-052-118-001.

Halter neck day dress in white, pink and green floral design with a black background. The front bodice has six bust and shaping darts. The dress is backless to the mid-back, with only the halter neckline showing at the back neck. The front skirt is pleated onto the fitted waist, there is no pleating on the skirt back panel and it is calf length. The dress fastens at the centre back with a zip from neck to hip. The dress was made at home from paper pattern 1996-052-118-001.

1996-052-118/003 dress; woman's Early 1950s

Simplicity paper pattern 8464. The envelope front shows two illustrations of models wearing the pattern, which is a coat, with different designs. Both are in colour. Left side of envelope reads SIMPLICITY PATTERN, DESIGNED IN NEW YORK, MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN. The pattern number, size, measurements and price are in top left corner. The envelope has been stamped by the retailer stating that the pattern cannot be exchanged. Only partially readable. The envelope back gives back views of the pattern and drawings of the pattern pieces. It also gives fabric requirements, measurements and notations. The bottom right corner reads PRINTED IN ENGLAND. The pattern pieces and instruction leaflet are complete. Used to make coat 1996-052-020-001, although it was altered to suit the wearer.

1996-052-119 pattern; paper Early 1950s

Duster coat with printed black abstract design on a turquoise background. The coat has a wide straight cut. It is unlined and has kimono style sleeves. It opens down the centre front and has two fastenings. The neck is fitted mandarin style, there is a black edge trim round the collar and down the centre front edge of each front panel. the coat was made to match 1996-052-120-002. It was made using pattern 1996-052-119 which was considerably altered from the original pattern.

Day dress with printed design on a turquoise background. The dress has a loosely fitted bodice with kimono style sleeves edged in black. The front bodice is made in two pieces which cross over and are stitched to the waist. The neck and front edges have a black edge on the front panel. The fastening is at the left side seam with a zip from the underarm to the hip. The dress was made at home to match coat 1996-052-102-001.

No. 1. Drindl style printed dress with a yellow oval abstract design and black background. The front bodice is cut in one with the neck and there is a tuck on each shoulder seam at the neck. The bodice fastens down the centre front with four buttons. The short sleeves are kimono in style and have a triangular gusset under the arm. There are two darts on the bodice back. There is a zip on the left side seam from underarm to hip and there is a belt loop on the right side seam at the waist. The circular skirt is stitched at the waist seam. The label reads 'A Rhona Roy Dress'. No. 2. The belt is made of the same fabric as the dress. It has a metal buckle and five metal eyelets. The dress skirt could be described as a drindle skirt.
