The memorial to the miners of Bo'ness takes the form of a steel wheel with a groove on the outer edge along which runs a steel rope. The rope rises vertically out of the ground at the north end and returns at an angle of around 45 degrees to the south. This is set on a slightly raised stone plinth dotted with metal plaques engraved with local coalmining scenes. These were drawn by local schoolchildren.
