This mineral line led from a junction at Sunnyside in Camelon to the Grangemouth Branch line at Fouldubs. North of the Forth & Clyde Canal it was called the Bainsford Branch (North British Railway) and south of it the Grahamston Branch (Caledonian Railway).

The reservoir was opened in 1905 to provide water to the southern portion of the Falkirk district - Bonnybridge through to Linlithgow Bridge, including Polmont and Muiravonside. It is located 1.8km north of Carronbridge in the Stirling Council area.

In 1904 two 18th century gravestones were found during building operations at 44-48 Grahams Road. It is not known how they got there, but it is not thought that they mark the site of burials.

Demolished. The school stood opposite Blairs Cottage on the east side of the main road between Westquarter and Brightons. A single storey stone construction it was designed in 1903 by Alexander Gauld.
