Falkirk St Andrew's Church

Biography
St Andrew's Church was formed as Falkirk Free Church of Scotland at the Disruption in 1843 (in the Auld Lichts Burgher Church in Cistern Lane, Falkirk) with a small number from Falkirk Parish Church, most of the quoad sacra congregation of Cistern Lane and a few dissenters from Erskine Church. The congregation entered the United Free Church in 1900 and the Church of Scotland in 1929. The congregation was united with the West Church on 3 Oct 1990 and took the name St Andrew's West.

The congregation first met in Cistern Lane. By November 1844 the congregation erected a new building in Garrison Place, known as Garrison Church, where they remained until 1896 when the present building on Newmarket St was erected. Missions included churches at Bainsford, Shieldhill, Camelon (Irving Church), Etna Rd, Thornhill Rd and Callendar Riggs
