Larbert Free Church was established in 1843 and its first minister was the Revd John Bonar who had previously been minister at Larbert Parish Church (Larbert Old). The congregation entered the United Free Church in 1900 taking the name Larbert East United Free Church and then went into the Church of Scotland in 1929 as Larbert East Parish Church. The present building was erected in 1900 on the same site as the 1843 building, and opened in 1903 It appears from the Session minutes that the congregation continued to use the original parish church building (opened in 1820) despite the Disruption (CH3/1273)
