Stenhouse Parish Church

Biography
McLaren Memorial Church was opened in 1900 as an extension congregation of the Church of Scotland. The parish was formally disjoined from Larbert in 1904. It took the name Stenhouse Parish Church in 1929. In 1963 the congregation was united with Carron Parish Church to form Stenhouse & Carron Parish Church. The church was named after the Rev John McLaren, D. D. who was minister of the United Parishes of Larbert and Dunipace from 1847 until his death in 1898. The building was begun in 1897 to celebrate Dr McLaren's 50th anniversary and was completed in 1899 and dedicated in 1900. There are four stained glass windows by Dr Douglas Strachan.
