Grangemouth : Moray Middle School

Biography
Moray School was established as a Junior Secondary School with pupils in S1-4 in 1958. S4 pupils undertook technical and vocational training. In 1970 the name was changed to Moray High School when the school became a Comprehensive. Teachers and courses were initially shared with Grangemouth High School. In 1974 it was re-designated a Middle School, taking pupils in P6-7 and S1-2. The school closed in 1988. The Middle School system was proposed for Grangemouth from 1968 and implemented in 1974. Using this system, S3-S6 pupils attended Grangemouth High School, P6-7 and S1-2 pupils attended Moray Middle School or Abbotsgrange Middle School and P1-P5 pupils attended the various Primary schools. Within the Middle schools the years were re-designated M1-M4.
