Polmont Parish Council
Biography
Parish Councils were set up in 1894 as elected bodies to replace the Parochial Boards. The Parish Councils had responsibilities for poor relief and public health. Parish Councils frequently continued to use the same minute books and other records as their predecessors. The Parish Councils were abolished in 1930.
