Bo'ness Fever Hospital

Biography
The Public Health (Scotland ) Act 1867 gave powers to town councils, police commissioners and parochial boards to erect hospitals, regulate lodging houses and combat diseases. Fever Hospitals were set up as isolation hospitals for the treatment of scarlet fever, enteric fever and diphtheria, all of which were highly contagious.
Referred to as Bo'ness Infirmary in 1926 (see P13298).
