Walter Alexander
Biography
Walter Alexander (1879-1959) first worked as a fitter in a Camelon foundry. In 1902 he opened a General Store Shop in Camelon which offered cycle sales, repairs and hiring. His mother and sister attended to the shop and Walter Alexander worked on repairs in the evening.. He established Alexander's Motor Service in 1913 and set up Walter Alexander & Sons in 1924. The firm built buses in Camelon and operated bus services. Walter Alexander also became Chairman of Falkirk Football Club.
