He had four children who were Reynold Collier Brown (1891-?), Robert Vivian Blacklock Brown (1894-1960), photographer, Andrew Charles Blacklock Brown, (1896-1962), Research Chemist, and William H B Brown, (1899?) 1881 Census records family living at Tarves, Aberdeen. He was the son of Robert Brown, Photographer, Aberdeen and brother of Joseph Collier Brown, Photographer, Falkirk.
