William Fulton

Biography
William Fulton of Sunnyside Camelon was the son of Robert Fulton and Elisabeth Fulton of Auchterarder. As a young man he served his apprenticeship as a candle and soap maker in Glasgow. It appears that he was originally married to Euphemia and his obituary indicates that their children died in infancy. He later became a farmer in Sunnyside, Camelon. He also owned property around Lock 16 in Camelon. His brother was James Fulton of Burnhouse. William Fulton married Janet Shaw in 1848 she was almost 50 years his junior. They had one daughter Jessie who went on to marry and become Jessie Robertson. He was buried at St David's Churchyard in Glasgow. He was the cousin of Allan Glen who founded Allan Glen's School in Glasgow posthumously by his will in 1853. William Fulton was one of Allan Glen's trustees.
