Scottish Temperance League
Biography
The Scottish Temperance League was formed in Falkirk in 1844 by 9 founder members. The object was "the Entire Abolition of the Drinking System" and members pledged not to take or give intoxicating drink. The League had an average annual membership of 9.500 by 1900.
