Central Office of Information (COI)

Biography
The Central Office of Information (COI) was responsible for the UK government's marketing and communications agency. The department was formed in 1946 and dissolved in 2011 with its remaining functions transferred to the Cabinet Office. It worked with public bodies to produce information campaigns on issues that affected the lives of British citizens, from health and education to benefits rights and welfare.
