Jane Baird Darling

Biography
Jane Baird Darling was born in 1870, daughter of Alexander Nimmo and Margaret Robertson. Alexander was a senior partner in the forms of Russel and Aitken, and lived in Westbank. Jane married Augustine Darling, an English schoolmaster from Eyke, in 1896. She inherited the Candie estate from her mother's side of the family. Jane and Augustine's son, Sir James Ralph Darling, was the Chairman of the Australian Broadcasting Commission. Jane Baird Darling died in 1957.
