Ian Frederick Cheney Bolton
Biography
Ian Bolton (1888-1982) lived at Plean. In 1914 Ian Bolton was a Captain in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders and was wounded in 1915. He then became adjutant for Stirlingshire Volunteers.
He founded Torwood Scout Troop in 1912. He became Stirling County Commissioner for Boy Scouts, president of Scottish Scout Council and Lord Lieutenant of Stirling.
