A Church of Scotland congregation was opened in Bonnybridge on 11th Nov 1877 and the quoad sacra parish was formally disjoined from Denny, Dunipace and Camelon on 14th Mar 1878. The congregation united with High Bonnybridge St Helen’s on 31 July 1991 to form Bonnybridge St Helen’s.

The Church of Scotland kirk session for Bonnybridge sat within the Presbytery of Stirling until 1929. It then sat within the presbytery of Linlithgow and Falkirk and from 1976 in the presbytery of Falkirk.

The building was erected in 1876-1877
