William Muirhead

Biography
William Muirhead (d 1950) was Falkirk's first Labour Provost and indeed first Labour member on the Town Council. He served as Provost from 1922 to 1925. An employee of Falkirk Iron Co , he was a founder member of the Central Iron Moulders' Association and served as President of its Executive. He presided over the Scottish Trades Conference when it was held in Falkirk in 1902. Remained in the Council until 1942. was honorary member of the Rotary Club of Falkirk and was Chief Templar of the Independent Order of Good Templars
