McDowall, Steven & Co Ltd
Biography
McDowall, Steven & Co Ltd was established in Glasgow in 1834. The company set up works in Laurieston in 1904 and became part of Allied Ironfounders in 1929. The Laurieston works closed in 1958. In 1934 McDowall, Steven & Co also took over Castlelaurie Iron Works which had been set up in 1875 by Falkirk Iron Co (also part of Allied Ironfounders). The Castlelaurie works closed in 1958.
McDowall Steven & Co was incorporated in 1894 with the registration number SC002628, and was dissolved in 1964. [Ref: GB234/BT2/2628]
