Name Biography
MacLachlan Family
The Pipers of Allendale was a piping band established by the MacLachlan family during the 1930s. In 1939 four of the brothers joined the Territorial Army detachment of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Two of the brothers, Malcolm MacLachlan, and Ian MacLachlan, died during the war. The band was revived after the war by Pipe-Major John Smith of Denny. The band disbanded in the early 1950s.
Kidston Family
Kidstons of Logie. The Kidstons originated in the parish of Logie and later family members were prominent residents of Falkirk. The Honourable William Kidston (1849-1919) who attended Grosart's School in Falkirk, became Premier of Queensland, Australia, 1906-1907, and again, 1908-1911. He was given the freedom of his home town of Falkirk in 1908.

Burns Family
The Burns family of Falkirk originated in Bo’ness, West Lothian, where John Burns senior was a customs collector. His eldest son, John Burns studied law at Edinburgh University and became a lawyer in Falkirk in the 1790s. This John Burns had several sons, one of whom also became a lawyer and, and another became a singer, studying in Italy, despite parental disapproval. John Burns was also one of the first elders of the Free Church in Falkirk. The family were connected to Rev Robert Burns who was Secretary of the Glasgow Colonial Society and was instrumental in taking the Disruption to the churches in Canada

Alexander Brown
Alexander Brown (b c 1827, d, 22 Feb 1884) appears in the 1864 Valuation roll at High St, Falkirk and is described as artist. No occupation given in 1871 census and described as grocer in 1881 census. On his will he is described as "photographer afterwards grocer" May be the same photographer who worked with James Dunlop as Alexander Brown photographs and Brown & Dunlop photographs have the same motto and coat of arms on the reverse
Edward Wright
Edward Wright was the son of William Wright, a merchant, and graduated from the University of Edinburgh on 22 July 1620. He was minister at Falkirk Parish Church, 1646-1662. Previously he was Minister at Clackmannan 1626 -1641, then translated to the east quarter of Glasgow (High Church), 1641-1642 (St Mungo's). James Kincaid of Gartcows had a son, James, who lived in the United States by the late 1830s whose relative Elizabeth Kincaid of Musselburgh represented him in the matter of the executry of Elizabeth Kincaid of Gartcows.
The surviving beneficiaries of their fathers Trust were sued by the estate of John Heugh of Gartcows for non payment of debt.
