Thomas Walker
|
In 1798, Captain Thomas Walker bought Comely Park and a property in Grangemouth. He was a Sea Captain and sailed a ship named 'the Surprise', which seems to have been owned by the Nabob of the Carnatic (South India) under the protection of the East India Co. Captain Walkers wife was the daughter of a Sea Captain by the surname of Graham, and their sons, James and Graham were also seamen. The Cochrane family (Cochrane St) were related to the Walkers of Comely Park.
