John Luke

John Luke (b 1796) was the eldest son of John Luke (b. 28 Feb 1762) and Christian Gillespie (M. 13 May 1787). Apprentice papermaker in Airthey Mill, Bridge of Allan from about 1809. Apprenticeship certificate signed by Robert Henderson, Secretary of Papermakers Society in 1826. In 1826/27 moved to paper mill at Crook of Devon.
