Royal Army Service Corps
|
The Army Service Corps was formed in 1888 by the amalgamation of Commissariat and Transport Staff (officers), and Corps (other ranks), including the War Department Fleet (established 1855). It had its origins in various civilian and military groups which were formed to assist the British Army with transport and supplies. The Royal designation was added in 1918.

The Royal Signals Association (RSA) was formed in 1920 at the birth of the Corps from the Royal Engineers. The objects of The Association are: to provide comfort and relief either generally or individually to past and present signallers and their dependants who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress. and to foster comradeship and morale within the Corps family, serving and retired. Any person who served with the Corps (Regular, TA or National Service), including ATS and WRAC is eligible to join The Association [Source : RSA website, 2005]

Royal Observer Corps (ROC)

The Royal Observer Corps (ROC) was a civil defence organisation intended for the visual detection, identification, tracking and reporting of aircraft over Great Britain. It was active between 1925 to 1996, composed mainly of civilian spare-time volunteers. They were trained and administered by a small cadre of professional full-time officers under the command of the Commandant Royal Observer Corps. During the Cold War, the ROC gained the role of defending against the effects of nuclear weapons. The ROC would provide primary data on the position and magnitude of atomic weapons detonated during any nuclear attack for the UKWMO (United Kingdom Warning and Monitoring Organisation), who would provide both civil and military authorities with essential information on the attacks.

|
The Sea Cadet Corps is a national youth organisation for boys and girls aged 12 to 18. Some local units also have junior sections for those aged between 11 and 12. The aim of the Sea Cadet Corps is to help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct using a nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy.
