Highlights

Falkirk was at the forefront of the light castings industry and was an area with many thriving iron foundries. Here is a small sample of the some of the iron related items we hold.

Callendar House is the historic jewel in the Falkirk Community Trust crown. Dating back to the 14th century, this French-chateau styled stately home has a surprise around every corner. Our collection includes many historic photographs and plans of Callendar House, as well as object uncovered during renovations.

Born in Falkirk, Elizabeth Blackadder is one of Scotland’s finest artists and was the first woman to be elected to both the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Academy. Here is a selection of some of her works.
